Key Notes: Heliotrope, musk, violet and jasmine
Inspired by the two gold rushes which occurred in British Columbia, beginning in 1858, the Fraser Gold Rush brought about 30,000 prospectors and overlanders to the west coast, establishing the colony of New Caledonia. from 1860 through 1863 the Caribou Gold Rush occurred, creating the rugged road from Yale to Barkerville, which provided transportation and development to what was to become British Columbia. In search of fortune in the Fraser Valley, one might instead find Mother Nature's gold, in the golden hues of the Heliotrope flowers.
